Frequency offset compensation method in underwater acoustic multicarrier communication

    Abstract

    Frequency offset in OFDM underwater acoustic channel will destroy orthogonality of carrier and generate interference among carriers. Carrier frequency offset, sampling frequency offset and Doppler frequency offset in the system influence demodulation result of the receiver to different degrees. Motion Doppler and time varying Doppler among underwater receivers are the core problems of frequency offset compensation. This paper proposes a frequency offset joint compensation algorithm based on adaptive algorithm. This algorithm utilizes conjugate property of Fourier transformation for data modulation, and combine to handle carrier frequency offset compensation, sampling frequency offset and Doppler frequency offset. Simulation indicates this method can effectively solve three kinds of frequency offset. It shows good compensation performance in the experiment and effectively boosts effectiveness.
